Be Unwavering as a Star
Be unwavering as a star.
Be immovable as a lighthouse.
Sailors use the stars to navigate the seas. If the stars were ever changing they could not be used. We must be the same. We are always watched by others. We must always be the example and light the way. Matthew 5:14-16….”Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle and hide it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
How can we become this “light”?
1: Study the Scriptures and the words of the Prophets. Don’t just read, but study them. Learn from them. Learn from those who have been through what you are going through.
2: Stick together. Remember the story of the geese. The stick together and help each other reach the goal. They help those who are falling behind and escort the sick to the ground to help nurse them back to health. We can do the same to our friends and all others we come in contact with.
3: Accept adversity. Welcome it. Expect it. Realize how much you will learn from it. It is the way we grow.
Do not try to get around trials and adversity. Hit it head on and learn as you go. You will be stronger and wiser. It is through these experiences that we grow and Heavenly Father can use us as he desires.
4: Keep yourselves worthy. Avoid temptation at all costs. If you are not strong enough to resist the temptation then take yourself out of the situation where the temptation is. If you cannot control what you look at on the computer then DO NOT turn on the computer. If you cannot control what you watch on TV then DO NOT turn on the TV. Unworthy sons and daughters cannot be lights to others. Do not let this happen. Repent if need be. Do it soon. Keep yourselves worthy.
Keep these four principles in mind at all time and test the promises of the Lord and you will be a light to others. You will be the star for the sailors lost in the spiritual seas. I testify of these things and the truthfulness of the Gospel in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
